about

'Old, New Borrowed' features one older Lollygags song, a brand new song and a cover song.

Old - Christian Laytner
Originally released as a demo back in 2012, Christian Laytner has nothing to do with professional basketball. Christian Laytner is actually the name of a mute homeless man who used to walk the streets of Denver. He was known for carrying an acoustic guitar, a cherished possession of his. This guitar eventually was handed over to a friend of Lollygags' singer/guitarist Jonathan Snyder, who had helped take care of Christian Laytner, after Mr. Laytner's death. This is a song about an overlooked marginalized individual and helping someone out without expecting anything in return.

New - Grand Consolation
"The war is lost, we pay the cost everyday. We trudge along and win battles along the way." An anthem for those of born into a mess we didn't ask for and didn't cause. Atleast we've got some good music to listen to!

Borrowed - 'Affection' by Jonathan Richman
Originally performed by Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers 1979. People all over the world are STILL starving for affection

about

the Lollygags Denver, Colorado

The Lollygags began in late 2011, with Denver native Jonathan Snyder who maintains the presence of constant Lollygag, and main songwriter. The lyrics draw from witty social observations and personal shortcomings, while put over a soundtrack of addictive melodies and anthemic choruses. Songs that are seriously good, but never take themselves too seriously. Like HuskerDu in a fight w/ Cheap Trick. ... more
